In order to highlight great webcams we’re adding a blog category for webcams. The first live cam to highlight in this series is the Oceanside Oregon Surf Cam hosted by Pam Zielinski’s Virtual Oceanside website. The webcam rotates nearly 180 degrees to pan up and down the coastline of Oceanside. This beautiful and rugged coast is easy to appreciate with the high quality camera. We recently launched the Boulder Flatiron cam. http://boulderflatironcam.com Setting up the cam was a fun project. The cam is located on a ridge in Louisville, Colorado with a nice view to the west. The first step was finding someone who would agree to host the webcam. Once that was accomplished we set about getting all the pieces together.The webcam is a Stardot Netcam XL 3mp. It’s housed in an outdoor enclosure attached to the side of the house. It relays the image to the internet via an Apple Airport Express.The cam recently got picked up by CBS New4 in Denver on their webcam page.

When you create a My Livelook account the first screen is populated with some sample webcams. The samples are webcams that we’ve found to be exceptional quality or content.

While adding and browsing webcams on the Livelook site I’ve found a lot of great cams. I haven’t been able to find any blogs dedicated to all the great outdoor webcams on the internet, so I’ll just start commenting on what I like.
