Time Lapse Webcam Video sites

I’ve had several cool webcam sites recommended lately. I like these sites because of the ability to view historical images and time lapse movies.

The first is a site focused on European webcams. Panoramablick.com captures images from many European webcams and provides a feature to view past images and time lapse image sequences.

earthTV

The second is not strictly a webcam or live video site but has some great time lapse and videos. Earthtv.com produces daily videos of very scenic locations primarily in Europe but also around the world. From their site, “earth television network´s main objective is to produce a daily 24-hour LIVE program from locations around the world. Program formats in various languages and lengths will be licensed to international broadcasters, internet portals and many other media partners.” The HD quality video is really nice and very well produced. I just wish you could get live images from the cameras.

Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard

Vineyard Webcam After a long busy summer Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard start to slow down in September. One of my favorite webcams in the area is on Martha’s Vineyard near the ferry terminal at Vineyard Haven. It’s hosted by the Martha’s Vineyard Times Newspaper and has a terrific view of the harbor. The webcam updates every minute automatically so you can watch the ferry coming and going. Occasionally the doors are open on the old building in the foreground and you can see craftsmen working on wooden boats. Often you can see tall sailings ships in the harbor that are part of the Black Dog fleet. This one is in My Livelook for sure!

Colorado Webcams

Living in Boulder we’re big fans of Colorado. You can see the home of Livelook from our live cam facing west toward Boulder and the Flatirons. From ski resorts to tourist railroads Colorado has lots of great webcams. September is a great time to watch the aspen leaves changing and maybe even the first snow in the mountains. Use the link below to see cams of Colorado as organized and geolocated in Livelook.com.  Click the more cams or Show all cams buttons above the map to see more Colorado outdoor live cams.

Fake Webcam Sites

Watch out for the fake webcam sites. There are a growing number of webcam sites that advertise themselves as having a webcam at some interesting place. Since many people will go visit the webcam once they may never know the difference. These site owners are trying to capitalize on the traffic generated by a webcam without the expense of actually installing one. Some examples include the never changing image on Tahiti Planet, the fake Zanzibar cam and the never updating Phuket, Thailand webcam. The Phuket fake even has the enterprise to update the time stamp on the static image. Livelook blocks entry of these fake sites so you’ll always have good results.
